A pyramid is illegal because the focus is on the recruiting of people to make any money. There may or may not be

an actual product or service.If there is, it is generally given very little emphasis and no real income can begenerated from it. Also with true pyramids, the only people that earn significant income are those at the very top. It is important to use due diligence when embarking upon any networking opportunity.

Although there are those that can earn income quicker than others, that is more the exception than the rule. Professional network marketers have usually been involved with companies over time and as a result, have established relationships with fellow network marketers. This would be a vast network of people looking for the right business opportunity. They may join a company and soar to the top. When they joined the new company, they were able to call on those that they have known from other direct selling companies to follow them. These people start off with a definite advantage. Success in network marketing requires persistence, dedication and hard work.
